Santo Stefano, with 3 square kilometers of area, is located between the north-east coast of Sardinia (one mile from Palau) and La Maddalena.
The island is a very popular destination for tourists who love to visit the seaside resort of Cala Fumata and the beautiful panoramic view of Punta dello Zucchero.
The island is almost completely uninhabited in winter, and is the only archipelago with traces of prehistoric settlements and ancient stone tools. There is also the fortress of Santo Stefano, built in the late eighteenth century.
This building is known as Napoleon's fortress, in 1793, after the emperor conquered it, it became the strategic point from which the French army began its attack to La Maddalena.
In the island there is also a tourist village near Pesce Lungo beach.
The island is an authentic corner of paradise with white sands and emerald water.
